A bi-partisan group of women
Members of Congress take the field against the the women of the DC Press Corps.
The Congressional Women’s Softball Game is organized
by volunteers that make up the CWSG Organizing Committee. . The Women’s
Softball Game benefits the Young
Survival Coalition - YSC. This is a global organization
that helps young woman with breast cancer. They help young women when faced with
this diagnosis. YSC is where women can go to find support, resources,
connections and outreach to help them through their treatments and
lives.
This year, the fifth annual Women’s
Congressional Softball Game game was on June 26th. Both Congressional and Women
of the DC Press Corp have wins under their belts. This
year’s Congressional Women’s Softball Game captains
were:
- Members of Congress Team: Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), who is a young breast cancer survivor.
- DC Press Corps (aka Bad News Babes): Dana Bash, CNN*; Carrie Budoff Brown, Politico*; Brianna Keiler, CNN; Abby Livingston, CQ Roll Call and Amy Walter, Cook Political Report.
