Voting Age Requirements lowered

Voting Age Requirements changed
 Illinois House Bill 226 amends Illinois Election Code 10 ILCS 5/3-6 adding in part: “a person who is 17 years old on the date of a primary election and who is otherwise qualified to vote is qualified to vote at that primary, including voting an absentee grace period or early voting ballot with respect to that primary, if that person will be 18 years old on (by) the date of the immediately following general election,” This change goes into effect on January 1, 2014.
