Dear Friend,
Americans need a raise. There is no excuse for one of the wealthiest nations in the world to pay its workers below a living wage. The Illinois minimum wage of $8.25 an hour puts a family of four below the poverty line and makes it impossible to pay for basic necessities like food, rent, or healthcare. Having to choose between a roof over your head or food on your table is not a choice that working families should have to make.
CREDO Action members from the across the country have been fighting this injustice by working to raise the minimum wage.
Now it's time to bring that same energy to Chicago next Tuesday.
Here are the details:
What: Rally to Raise the Minimum Wage
When: Tuesday, July 24, 4:30 PM
Where: Thompson Center Plaza, 100 West Randolph Street, Chicago, IL 60601 (map)
