The information below on recycling & green events is provided as a service to the residents of DuPage County. Inclusion is not intended as an endorsement of any of company or event, nor has the County purposely excluded any additional events. The events listed below are FREE and open to the public (unless otherwise indicated). DuPage County Document Shredding Event - October 5, 2013 - 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. - Naperville Public Works Facility, 180 Fort Hill Drive, Naperville.  For more information, call (630) 407-6700.

DuPage County Commercial Document Shredding Event - October 11, 2013 - 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. - Ross Ferraro Town Center, 1022 Fountain View Drive (corner of Gary Ave. & Lies Rd.), Carol Stream - This event is not intended for residents.  For more information, call (630) 407-6700.  Businesses and organizations must register for this event by sending an email to joy.hinz@dupageco.org, with the following information - business name, contact name, location of business, phone number, email and # of boxes the business plans to bring.

Glendale Heights Electronic Recycling - Electronic Recycling Program: Collections Accepted on THURSDAYS (7:30 AM – 3:00 PM; May-Nov ONLY) at the Village of Glendale Heights Public Works Garage-1635 Glen Ellyn Rd.  All programs include Battery Recycling, Cell Phone Recycling, Medical Equipment Recycling, and a Pharmaceutical Disposal Program For more info go to: greenteam@glendaleheights.org

North Central College Recycling Event - October 5, 2013 - 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. - North Central College, Parking Lots Behind Res/Rec Hall at 440 S. Brainard Street & Merner Field House at 450 S. Brainard Street, Naperville. This recycling event is open to County residents, and not intended for businesses and organizations. For more information, contact Brittany Graham at (630) 637-5623.    
                                                                              
Addison Park District Recycling Event - October 26, 2013 - 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. - Addison Park District Community Recreation Center Parking Lot, 120 E. Oak Street, Addison. For more information, call (630) 233-7275. This recycling event is open to county residents and not intended for businesses and organizations.

Darien Public Library Recycling Event – October 26
Below are environmental days of celebration taking place throughout the year. To learn about the HISTORY of these events or for more information, visit the Indian Prairie Public Library online. Morton Arboretum Certification & Courses - ongoing - Morton Arboretum, 4100 Illinois Route 53, LisleThe Morton Arboretum is offering 'New to Nature' courses and certifications. Upcoming topics include Horticulture & Gardening, Woodland Stewardship, Ornithology and Natural History.  Courses and certifications are available for a fee. For more information, visit the website.
Permaculture Certification & Courses- ongoing - McDonald Farm, Clow House, 10S404 Knoch Knolls Road, NapervilleThe Resiliency Institute is offering several courses and certifications on permaculture.  Topics include Edible Wild Plants Certificate, Feast on Flowers, Eat the Trees and Graze on Greens.  Courses and certifications are available for a fee.  For more information, visit the website.
Book Rescue - With a little effort, there should be next to nothing in your trash. Check bookrescue.org to find out how you can help to promote curbside composting of food scraps!!
