Mothers that turned into activists Part 1

MOTHERS THAT TURNED INTO ACTIVISTS
Part 1
SANDY’S LIGHTHOUSE Edition | by Sandy Gresak
I am the mother of one son. Although, he is a grown adult, I would do anything for him. Also, I helped raise my nephew. He, too, is a grown adult, and serves in the Army, deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan and now in South Korea. I would do anything for him as well. A mother's love is indescribable.
I will be featuring the mothers fighting a cause. They are fighting for many different types of causes. Each of these mothers has experienced issues of many varieties that had an impact on their life.
There are many woman who become true activists for this cause. A good friend of mine brought this topic to light for me. Thank you, Karen. Upon researching this, I was amazed at how many mothers have fought for a cause that became a success story. I hope you find this as interesting and amazing as I did. Who knows maybe you may see a little of yourself in one of these women or, men, a little bit of your wife, sister or mother.
I think the Newtown Shooting was for me, as a mother, one of the darkest days, in US history.  By no means am I taking away from the loss mothers of other slain victims have experienced. But, we send our children to school, feeling they are in a safe haven, then in a split second they are in danger and these mothers had no ability to protect their babies.
