Walsh insulted his opponent Tammy Duckworth's military service, telling a reporter: "What else has she done? Female, wounded veteran ... ehhh."1 Whether or not Joe Walsh agrees with Tammy Duckworth's politics, to insult an Iraq war veteran who as a Black Hawk helicopter pilot lost her legs in the service of her country is unequivocally appalling. Tammy Duckworth was awarded a Purple Heart for her combat injuries and continues to serve as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Illinois National Guard. Whereas Joe Walsh is a self-proclaimed "crazy Tea Party freshman" and deadbeat dad who owes more than $100,000 in child support.2 Walsh's insulting comment is yet another sign that he is unfit to serve in Congress.
